Jim is the President of CMBG Advisors, Inc , an experienced restructuring and consulting firm. CMBG helps companies in financial hardship creatively strategize a path to recovery or, when necessary, wind down operations in a cost-effective and orderly manner He is also a founding partner at Baer, Negrin & Troff, LLP where he works closely with its attorneys on corporate legal matters and on restructuring transactions for CMBG.
In the fall of 2017, Jim launched The Puck: Venture Capital and Beyond , a podcast centered on the innovative forethought defining the venture capital world. The topics discussed on the podcast have since been indicators of where our world is headed. Thus, Jim’s signature question, “Where do you think the puck is going?” Jim has welcomed such guests as Brad Feld of Foundry Group , Gil Elbaz of Factual , Eva Ho of Fika Ventures , and Rick Smith of Crosscut Ventures on the show, to name just a few. Paragraph 61 extended the ability of local jurisdictions to restrict commercial evictions through September 30, 2021. In many instances, local Californian jurisdictions have extended their rent moratoriums until the end of September. The question is, what happens when the rent moratoriums finally expire and run out?
